SADHANA SIVIR
Sadhana Sivir is ‘ceremonially activity’ in the old and new night. It always do every year in the Master Unit, Sawan village, Sangsit, Buleleng, Bali. The main project in the ceremony is kiirtan and meditation.
Sadhana Sivir is ceremony to celebrate the BABA day, the vision of BABA, and welcome party of new year. The vibration in this place is very wonderful, very excited, and make all more brightness.
Master Unit ( MU) is an 8 hectares width place with many grass, many trees, and many buildings. Master Unit is located in Sawan, beside SMAN 1 Sawan. It is long journey and remember to turn left if you from Karang asem regency or turn right if from Singaraja in the Sawan market (the way to SMAN 1 Sawan).
There are 5 buildings with its specification; BABA house, Acharya house, margii house, kitchen, and the hall.
BABA House is a small building like “bale daja” of Baliness house, with small teras and small room maybe 3x2 metres squares. Inside the room, there are many “BABA” things, such as a statue in center of room that like ‘small third stage meru’ (Baliness stage shrine) for put BABA picture with many styles, an etalase for keep the BABA clothes and shoes. A beautiful pool is behind the house with a tower to keep water for supply to people here.
Acharya house is located in the right side of BABA House. It is like apartment with 4 square rooms for Acharya. Each room is about 6 metres square without anything. And 2 bathrooms made the house complete.
Margii house is located in the left side of parking area with one very big room and 4 bathrooms. This room is usually for margii sisters and children.
Kitchen is one big building without wall and have many doors. A long table is in center of this building and many chairs around the building.
The Hall is the biggest building in MU. The stage with BABA picture, the ‘prktik’ (symbol of Ananda Marga phylosophie), and one board within motto “atma jagadhita ya tha’ in front side of the hall. And completely by 2 bathroom in back side of the hall.
Here I will tell you about my experience join in Sadhana Sivir twice (2006 and 2007) and compare them.

On December 31st in Karang Asem regency I prepare all things that I will bring to Master Unit, especially my beloved Daddy’s car because I will use it for go to MU with many margii(s).
This day evening I go to Karang Asem jagrti and pick margii up who will join to MU.
Compare:
In 2006 Sadhana Sivir there are 2 margii(s) joined me; docter ketut and priest dalem from Padang Bay, then we go to MU at 15.00 o’clock by escudo. And in 2007 Sadhana Sivir there are 2 margii(s) again join me; docter ketut and bagus from subagan then we go to MU at 18.30 o’clock by kijang.
After we drive for 3 and half hours, through out Karang Asem (Amed, Tulamben etc) and eastern Buleleng (Tejakula, Bungkulan etc), we arrive in road to SMAN 1 Sawan.
New year condition and situation felt in MU environment.
Compare:
In 2006 we arrive before others regency margii(s) arrive, so we can parking in parking zone and then take around to see all of MU after having dinner (that why I can tell about Master Unit environment). And 19.00 pm the ceremony begin and we are in the hall because meditation for new year started at 19.00 pm till 01.00 am.
But in 2007 we arrive after all margii(s) arrive, so we can’t have parked car in parking zone, but only in other place near the gate. Then go to the kitchen for dinner. And 22.30 pm we join in the hall for watch culture festival, because meditation for new year begin at 00.00 am till 06.00 am.
The story will be different since here, so I devide by 2006 and 2007;
2006 night, we started with kiirtan prabhat samgit especially prabhat for new year then we kiirtan “Babanam Kevalam” for a half hour, after that we meditation for a half hour. We do like this sustainly for four hours till 01.00 am and new year in all Indonesia (eastern to western).
At 01.00 am we take a rest and sleep till 05.00 am for pancajanya (the 1st daily of margii). 07.00 am we asanas then having breakfast. We back to Karang Asem, but this time with other margii from Tejakula and Dada Mitra.
2007 night, we join in the hall at 22.30 for watch culture festival in back part because the hall has full. We sit beside Dada Mitra.
After take a rest for a half hour, the main program will begin. Time is for kiirtan. At 00.00 am Dada Mitra blow the Sandikala (thrompet), it is signal that all of margii(s) stand up and do “akhanda kiirtan” for all night. I do this till 02.00 am then I meditation 4 lessons till 03.00 am. After that I do akhanda kiirtan again for three until four songs, but body stoped me. At 05.00 all margii(s) wake up and do akhanda kiirtan again till 06.00 o’clock then meditation. I do the 5 and 6 lesson for complete my sadhana in the 1st day of this new year.
At 08.00 am after information and discussion, we have breakfast and go home to Karang Asem. This time we are just “alone” without other margii and Dada.
